more food...and stuff.

Ummm....ps :I am obsessed with these two snacks:

and that is how I survive 8 hour workdays without taking a lunch break. oh, and of course, plenty of this :)

Last night Hillwawee and I had a little dinner/movie/imdb/cuddle session. We watched this:

and it really was not that great... don't waste your time. A horror movie called the Stepfather...I am sure that you can only guess what happens.
and prior to that we ate here:

let's just say "you get what you pay for".
I suppose it was somewhat of an evening of mediocrity, but it was wonderful to hang out with sister and relax!  And don't worry Ang, I cleaned like crazy for our cleaning checks :)

i should clarify...

ue to some interesting e-mails and texts from people that read my blog (geez guys, I had no idea you even read this...) I feel the need to clarify something.

In reference to my post a couple days ago, I mentioned "D.", who I was going to marry and have babies with....hahahaha well, "D." is non existent. The idea of him was formed from my dear friend Danny (love love love you) who has beautiful teeth, is going to be a dentist and happens to love and want brown babies as well. Our future "marriage" is just a farce, it keeps us entertained,

So this is my friend Danny - and no, we are not really getting married... sorry to disappoint you.

I will be sure to more carefully monitor myself when posting any inside jokes on here.

what a terrific tuesday.

Listen to just how great this Tuesday was:

  • slept in until 6:20 AM (felt like a superstar and hadn't even eaten my Total yet)
  • showered, had a good hair day, at work and clocked in at exactly 7:00 AM (hit all red lights on the way and wasn't even mad)
  • work (productive and quite entertaining and I left 1 hour early)
  • temple with my Lilikins! (I have been to the Timpanogas temple several times, but just walking around outside on summer evenings. First time inside and it was beautiful!)
  • We completed over 30 names (a real perk of going to a less busy temple in the mid afternoon and bringing a bff with you)
  • Lily and I went to institute and learned to love our bodies (meehhh, kinda...)
  • off to dinner (so so so yummmmm)
  • arrived at the Truman Charity Show after it was over (was totally bummed but got to have some one on one face time with  Ben T. such an adorable sweetheart with vocals of an angel)
  • went home, had some adventures with Lily (making many phone calls to track down my lost phone, praying that the internet would work so she can START HER BLOG, Smiths, painting nails, talking about men...we laughed. a lot.)
  • scriptures read and in tucked in bed (that rhymes) by midnight.
Terrific?  Yes, I think so. No men (we give up), no sugar (Lent), no music (missed the concert)...but still the best day that I have had with one of my best friends in a long long time!  Thank you Heavenly Father for my Lily friend and please bless that she can get internet so that she can create her blog!)
my lovely Lily friend :)

for really now.

It has finally happened.  My roommate's fiancee is officially her fiancee now!  It is a gorgeous ring (and the most perfect, appropriate proposal, Z is racking up the points in my book) and I can think of fewer more wonderful and more prepared couples that should be taking this step.

This is the story of my life:
Professional 3rd Wheel.
and I love it.

I have been with them since the Mini Olympics, the first date, the first DTR, the first kiss and so much more. Definitely on my top 5 as far as friends and couples go. And they are so inclusive of little, single Beckie.
Things that I love about Ang and Z:

* Most down to earth couple I know.
*They are SO funny. Try playing Scattergories, Pictionary or Jenga with them.
* They nap together.
* They have the most fun adventures that I am allowed to go on.
* They cook together.
*They are constantly trying new things.
* They budget together.
* Zach is so patient and kind with everyone, but so so extra sweet to Ang.
* They always sing together.
* Ang takes such really good care of Z even though she has so much on her plate already.
* They ALWAYS have my best dating interests at heart.
* They will have cute babies.
* They involve their families, but know that it is THEIR marriage .
* They are always honest with each other.

Our little family will be no more, but theirs will grow and I am so happy for them. LOVE THEM BOTH DEARLY!! Congratulations and good job Z on finding the Ang's PERFECT ring!!!!

for a smile that "glistens".

Want a smile that will make Pop Pop proud?
(sorry, if you do not watch Arrested Development you are sorely deprived and probably quite confused by this...)
try:
Crest 3D Whitening Rinse.

I am absolutely obsessed with perfect teeth. I have tried every dental product in the US ( I think...) and this stuff is pretty freaking fantastic. Whitens, freshens... no alcohol, or gross peroxide taste. An all around (3D if you will...) WIN!  One day D. and I will be married, he will eventually finish dental school, we will have many brown, perfectly toothed babies and save the mouths of the unfortunate, volunteering our lives away for Dentists without Borders.

ps: even with this amazing elixir added into your daily dental regime, please do your gums (and the person that has to talk to you) a favor and remember to FLOSS.

bananas in pajamas.

If you ever come into my kitchen you will see enough bananas to feed the entire St. Louis Zoo Primate House. However, you will also notice that they do not last more than a few days. Reason being that my roommate Angela and I easily consume a few a day. Literally.

Benefits of Bananas:
*it is a fun word to say (or sing "yes we have no bananas today!")
*they are yellow (but the green ones taste better!)
*if you squeeze them just right, they split into three even pieces (thank you Sarah, for showing me that in the 3rd grade)
*Bio degradable packaging
*Smash em into mushy stuff to make banana bread when they are too ripe- YUM.
*Super cheap. Like $.40 a lb.  Dig that outta ya couch!
*TONS of Vitamin B6 (great for your blood and immune system, they also enhance your mood)
* Help PMS (the men in our lives are very grateful for this)
* High iron content (less anemia... less naps required!)
*INSTANT energy boost. Enough for a hard workout.
*good for your brain, eyes, kidneys, bones

I could continue, but I will stop there. Pretty much, I recommend that you eat bananas. And apparently Ang I and I have no excuses for being tired, in bad moods, or having poor vision...

February 18, 2010

hey sister.

that is my lovely little sister, hillwawee woo.

This year we spent Valentine's day together. It was nothing particularly special, but then again, I am not particularly, romantically interested in the holiday. I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers (thank you), my visiting teachers heart attacked me (very cute), the men in my ward made the relief society breakfast (attractive), and I received a few other little thoughtful treats. Oh and Hill and I got to talk to the babies and they said that they love us... what more could you need?!

And PS: the no candy/sugar thing has been successful thus far. Luckily Lent has also just begun and I am no longer on this treacherous course to a healthy lifestyle on my own!

funny madison.

IM moment between myself and work buddy Madison:

After discussing a very cute moment:

beckie: Gah I am turning into such a girl!
Madison: hahahahaha it is ok to be a girl!
Madison: Let's be honest, a girl is what a straight man wants.

touche.

what happens when...

What happens when you skip institute to watch a basketball game?

You decide to get a slurpee. The slurpee machine will be out of commission. But you will get another flavor.

Then you will be waiting behind a ginormous truck to leave the gas station.

He will then decide to reverse (?????) and not hear you honking and screaming.

He will hit your car.

You will exchange information, fight back tears, get a big tummy ache, learn some Spanish from the non English speaking truck man and leave.

You will become all too aware of how much you depend on and need your daddy and your mouth will hurt all night because the sound of the car crash reminds you of the first car crash you were ever in....
You will then witness the a most piss poor display of a game and the Jazz will suffer a devastating loss.

So...let's all go to institute.

And pay your tithing... because there will be hidden blessings in the trauma:

Sally's front end was broken anyway, now she gets a new one at no cost to her mama. And two nice boys will pull over to comfort you and take care of all the details for you.

February 10, 2010

is it just me??

At one point in my life I was in pretty good cardiovascular shape and I really enjoyed running. I loved the high that I got from it. You can refer to my friend Brooke's post on why running is so wonderful.
As of right now, Lily and I are registering to do the Run for Red in March.
Right now I have been in "training" haha. How pathetic is that. I have to train for 3.2 miles.... yikes. But as of right now I am completing the full distance in about 26-27 minutes and to be honest, it sucks. My shins hurt and my lungs burn. PATHETIC. So the goal: Complete in 00:24:30. Now for some reason, that first mile is KILLER. It is awful!  But once I hit that mark, i am good for quite a while. Is it just me?!  Why is 1 mile so difficult but 3 totally ok!?  Thanks to the wonderful trainers at Gold's, the lifting is coming along and I am getting back in shape slowly but surely. I will be ready to do a triathlon by the summer. I promise.
In effort to be as dedicated to this new lifestyle as possible: as of 02/06/2010: I have CUT OUT SUGAR. wowwwww.  I am a huge candy/sweets addict. I never was before Baby, but ever since, I have not been able to stop. And it goes straight to my butt. However, now that I am running again, I will have my runner's butt back and I will not need the sugar high because I will get that from the endorphins. "exercise gives you endorphins. Endoprhins make you happy. Happy people just don't kill their husbands. They just don't."

February 9, 2010

is this allowed??

Every year for Valentine's day, someone has delivered or given a big ol bouquet of red roses to me. Not to complain, because it is always a thoughtful gesture and I am grateful for their sentiments, but it is kind of ironical considering the fact that I do not like roses. Once again, not complaining...but would it be totally tacky if I just went and bought myself some flowers?!?

These are my favorite.
Green Hydrangeas.
So this year I'll save a sucker $50 bucks and get my own cheap, favorite flowers. Happy VDay to all.

i love elder uchtdorf.

i highly recommend going to the Church website and watching the Mormon Messages. They are so good!

February 3, 2010

wonderful wednesday.

So this is how I currently feel... trust me, this is a vast improvement from how I felt at 6 AM. (and yes, I am aware that i have a very large head)
Today is Wonderful Wednesday. So far, not so wonderful. Oh but it will be.
* taxes- DONE
* leaving work early
* an afternoon workout
*Plans tonight: Sushi and Jazz game with Jordy beans! (could I really have a better evening?!)

But my reason for this random post is to give you a little advice: you see after yesterday's post about how Wednesdays are always great...I woke up today thinking that it would just happen, by default. FAIL. It has required a lot of work so far... so perhaps my theory on what qualifies a day as being "good" is flawed...
But in effort to improve my day, I thought of things to smile/laugh about:

* half the men in my office are wearing pink or purple...they look gay.
* I am wearing running socks... with dress shoes...but no one knows.
* I ate Ramen, for the first time in years maybe, i liked it.
* an old man farted in the stairwell...but it was one of those little, funny toots.
*the color of my nail polish looks like sand...
*my boss told me that he used to be fat

and the winner:
I broke the fax machine.

terrible tuesdays.

Tuesdays are terrible, downright awful. I know that sounds like such a negative thing to say, but really, think about it.  Sure you can get a "case of the Mondays" but sometimes it is really nice to know that it is the beginning of a brand new week! And it is family night- in Provo that means that you are required to go play with a bunch of people your age and everything is 1/2 off. Wednesday is hump day, it is always a relief and for me, that is my temple day. Win. Thursday is lazy day.  Everyone knows that it is almost Friday and so they are so much more laid back and if anything goes wrong everyone just says "well at least tomorrow is Friday".  And Fridays...well god bless Fridays. Casual clothes, new movies, end of the week, date night, paydays, they hold so much potential.

So what do Tuesdays have?!  I have been calling them Terrible Tuesdays for quite some time (I do blame Jordan, ever since he pointed this out, it has been true!). But it is time for a change!  This is going to be a fantastic year gosh darn it [insert forced, medicated smile here...jk], I can't afford to have a bad day EVERY week!  So, ways to make Tuesday better, perhaps even terrific (but don't get too outta hand...it's still 4 days til the weekend):

  • say an extra long morning prayer- stay awake for the whole thing
  • sing "Downtown" with Petula Clark in the shower as LOUD as you can (ok not with Petula...)
  • wear extra cute, sexy panties (it's like a special secret, sorry if that is too risque to share, mama)
  • eat Barnum animal cookies (not the stale Stauffers kind, the real ones)
  • get as much done as you physically can
  • take a half hour nap (I normally take comatosis naps...this one is hard but worth it)
  • take out the recycling- every little bit helps!
  • go to the gym
  • stay extra for yoga (breathe correctly, makes a WORLD of difference)
  • Namaste.

February 1, 2010

i miss them.

And here we have my niece Anaya and my nephew Austin. If you ever want to feel loved or validated in any way, I highly recommend that you become the favorite aunt of the family (sorry Hill...but we know it's true).  They are the most exhausting but wonderful little babies in the world.  I cannot wait for #3 to be here this summer.  It is going to be so much fun. Maybe that kid will let Hillary hold its hand... just kidding, that was mean, sorry.
It was so much fun to spend Christmas with these babies. They remind me of the good things in the world. And all the bad... when I am with them I am suddenly so much more aware of all the awful things that they could potentially be exposed to and it makes me sick. But they are tough kids with amazing parents and the best grandparents right up the street. They will be great. Besides... look at how cool their favorite aunt is!!! yeah...they're screwed. haha just kidding.
xoxo.

names part II.

I should have added that I will also have two dogs. The big one will be named Tiberius and the smaller one will be named George Costanza. I cannot wait for him to run away so I can be running down the street in my bathrobe yelling, "George Constanza, come back!!"
My children will love me.
