girly schmirly.

"you may not be her first, her last or her only. she loved before, she may love again. but if she loves you now, what else matters? she's not perfect- you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. she may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break- her heart. so don't hurt her. don't change her. don't analyze her and expect more than she can give. smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there."
- bob marley.

it would behoove men to listen to bob. you cannot not love him.

i thought of this quote because the other night i partook in an interesting cinematic experience... supposedly nicholas sparks' novel based movie, "the notebook", is the ultimate chick flick, drama, romance, whatever. i had never seen this. but if you just mention it, girls all around the room just ooh and ahh over ryan gosling and how wonderful and lovely the movie is (while all the men groan and gag). well i watched it. and i can see the appeal. there wasn't any deep sighing, tears or longing for love but overall it was good. ok, i liked it.
what can i say? i love
* notebooks and journals. especially my moleskines.
*wooden rowboats.
*ryan gosling. (lars and the real girl..love)
*old couples. touching.
*when vulnerability pays off.
*that he was handy and built her dream house.
*that they called each other out on crap.
* the south.
*the 40's.
*her dresses.
*that they wrote letters.
*that she was a horrible driver.
*ferris wheels. so pretty.
*that her name was allie.

i will probably never watch it again. but it was a good excuse to share some marley love.
