and yet another food post. I like to eat. A lot. I'm sorry.

The credit goes to Katie Roberts Kendall for this new and delicious find. Craisinets! I highly recommend them. Oh so chocolaty and yummlicious and chock full of Anti Oxidants! (who know what on earth those really are....but it sure makes it sounds a lot more beneficial, which totally outweighs the choco calories!)

I WOULD be skinny...but...

I LOVE THESE.

These are pretty much impossible to ruin and are literally home baked. Frozen to fabulous without room to flub. Purely delish.

UpdaTe.

Just a few things that I have been up to:

  • Cohabiting with the younger sister. Always a good time. Probably too much fun in most cases.
  • Arrested Development Marathons.
  • Being a hardcore APXer.
  • Reading.
  • Running while Hillary rides her scooter next to me and talks to me.
  • Visiting baby and going to the zoo with her!
  • Meeting Yulia!
  • Going to all 3 hours of church.
  • Dabbling in the idea of going to school again.
For your viewing pleasure:

Like I said, hardcore. HAHA. Josh did not believe me when I told him that I always look ridiculous in hats...this is what he got.

This was the first night hanging out with our adorable Yulia friend from Russia!

Haha, I LOVE this picture of baby. She has a "palm tree" on her head. When I was a baby, I had one on the very top of my head that my mom tried SO hard to get to go down, but it refused. To this day I have a nice little cowlick there...

Disappointing moment.

Last night I made Hillary sing the Elf song from "Open Season" to me. These are the lyrics:

Once there was a magical elf who lived in a rainbow tree
He lived downstairs from a flatulent dwarf who was constantly having to pee.
One day the elf could take no more and he went and banged on the rude dawf's door.
And what do you know they both were suddenly married.

This song makes me laugh until I cry. It is especially funny when Hillary sings it to me. So I was giggling to tears, making her sing this song to me over and over (at least 7 times...) again and then this dialogue took place:

Me: " Do you know who I think of when I think of dwarfs?"
Hillary "No."
Me "That old guy from Lord of the Rings, Dumbledorf."
Hillary "What are you talking about?"
Me: "Well I know that it is spelled differently but y'know, dwarf and dorf, they sound exactly the same."
Hillary: (hysterical laughter and belittling voice) "You mean DumbleDORE from Harry Potter?!"

A moment of extreme confusion took place at this point. I now have nothing to relate to dwarfs.

"The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind..."

James and I are so excited to this movie! My eyes were misted by nostalgia when we watched this preview together. Oh childhood...

ThanKful.

Tonight Hillary and I went to see the movie Angels and Demons. I had read the book several years ago and I recall enjoying the read, but could not really remember many of the specifics. We really liked the movie and the suspense. BUt when it was over, all I could think about was just how grateful I am to be LDS and to not ever have to go through what the Catholics did in that movie/novel.

I have nothing against Catholicism, most of my friends back home and the maternal side of my family are good catholic people. And I admire their faith and kindess. I do realize that this was a fictional story, but it was based upon how the catholic church chooses its leadership. Through this movie I really saw where they could, and often times did, err.

To be put simply, I am so grateful to know that I belong to the LDS church. I often take it for granted and do not outwardly show my devotion as much as I should in my everyday life. But believe it or not, this movie was quite the testimony builder for me. I walked out feeling so blessed. KNOWING that the Lord would never allow evil to infiltrate His chuch leadedrship or allow those of authority to lead us astray.

My newest obsession.

This is my new obsession. I want to do this!

yumMers.

This cereal is amazing. Truly. Imagine Cinnamon Toast Crunch meeting Golden Grahams and they make a baby. Then they feed that baby Flintstones Vitamins and you would get an uberly sweet, crunchy, healthy cereal. Perfect. It's like Kashi, in all of it's "I'm healthy and hippie" glory, but with the carefree youthful side of the sugary cereals...creating one TOTALLY palatable breakfast, lunch, dinner or midnight snack.

This is old...just relocating it to this blog.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 (or however many you like) people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1. My favorite color scheme is sage green, cream, dark red, and black.
2. I have at least 30 pairs of jeans and wear the same 5 every time.
3. I like getting dressed up for church...I tend to unrighteously judge girls that come to church with their hair wet, wearing flip flops and hoodies.
4. I miss being in Missouri!
5. I get along much better with boys than girls and will probably be a much better mom to boys.
6. Autumn is my favorite equinox, but Spring is such a beautiful second.
7. My favorite hot cocoa is at Borders.
8. I wore a bikini once and felt guilty and have never done it again- and the world is a better place for that choice.
9. I want to have a Rottweiller, a Samoyed or a Chocolate Lab. No Paris Hilton Puppies for me.
10. I work out 6 days a week to stay healthy, sleep better at night, and so I can eat whatever I want, when I want.
11. My favorite shoes are my $3 pseudo Converse shoes from wal-mart.
12. I own about 200 movies but usually only find time to watch them with other people.
13. 2 dream cars: a green 1971 Bronco or a banana yellow 1983 Volvo.
14. I love my beat up car. Her name is Sally the Civic- I feel like I need to always remind her of this so she will not behave badly.
15. I have broken my femur. My right leg is now held together by a rod and pins.
16. I am a horrible dancer.
17. I require substantial, thought provoking, deep conversation from time to time to keep some faith in humanity.
18. I often make up words and statistics, but always based off of truths I've read/heard.
19. I love doing laundry.
20. I get really, really intense during a good basketball game- I’m very competitive.
21. Disorganization is my biggest pet peeve- clutter of my space or my thoughts upsets me.
22. People usually think that I am snotty, but I am really just very sarcastic and shyer than people who actually know me realize.
23. I try to not be selfish, but often fail…(saying “I” so many times is making me feel guilty)
24. I get so sucked into books that I forget where my reality is and what is really going on in my own life and what is in the book. So much so that I often form deep, emotional attachments to the characters.
25. I am always attracted to whimsical things and emotions, but generally find myself veering towards the more rigid and abrasive.

Martha MomentS!

As many of you know...some more than others, I am somewhat obsessed with wearing cardigans. But "with this economy" who can afford to be going out and buying tons of cardigans? Well...I dug through the wondrous mounds of clothing in my closet and decided to take matters into my own hands. $.80 worth of buttons (oh how I love you, Hobby Lobby) and $4 flower later and waaaaa laa!!

Kind of super cute right? This was quite the crafty accomplishment for me. Hillary can testify to the many little yelps of excitement that were heard after each button was successfully sewn on. This is just one of my many oldie, new pieces of clothing. Emily, are you proud of me??
