i Have amAzing FrienDs.

I have come to the conclusion that I will not be leaving Utah County anytime soon. Initially I was really torn between which school to attend in the fall. Doing ROTC allows me to pretty much attend any school that I want to because the program and scholarships are all the same. But it looks as though it will either be UVU or BYU. Because I am way too happy here. I know, I bag on UC all the time...and truth be told, I am not exactly a fan of the actual environment, but please continue reading to see why there is a glimmer of love for the place:

Two weeks ago I got a sore throat. I thought nothing of it. That weekend Katie and I randomly drove to St. George. This was a blast. We spent the day basking in the red rock warmth, catching up on life and having a great time just being ourselves. On the ride home though I began to feel the deterioration of my immune system kicking in and by Monday, Ingrid the Immune System had totally shut down.

I tried everything. Sleep, tea, working out (to sweat out the fever) and so much Theraflu and Zicam that I am afraid I might turn orange (I'm already yellow...haha). But this is where the awesome friends part comes into play.

While I love to take a sick day here and there, 2 bed ridden weeks is not exactly something I enjoy. Luckily March Madness had begun and since I lost my remote again, i could just leave it on ESPN. But even that wasn't going to tide me over for 2 full weeks of illness. On Monday, my friend drove down from Salt Lake to bring a beautiful bouquet of lilies to me because he knew I was sick and ONCE I had mentioned that those are my "pretty girl flowers". So he risked his health and drove all the way down to bring me that happy moment. My friend Sean, who is a works and goes to school full time and plays for the BYU rugby team brought me soup. And not just a can of soup, he made me some soup, how sweet is that? Then on Sunday morning Katie took me to the doctor and we were there for over 2 hours!! And later that night my two dashing young men showed up at my door to give me a wonderful blessing. I have had numerous e-mails, texts and phone calls since checking up on my recovery process. I guess that I am just suprised how much people care about me. Sometimes we forget how important we are in others' lives. But even amongst my friends and sisters extremely busy lives, they managed to care about little ol me. THANK YOU!

So things I have learned:

1. When you get a sore throat- start your cold remedy regime asap!
2. Don't go to Urgent Care on Sunday morning.
3. Anti Biotics come in the CUTEST capsules!
4. I must find that TV remote.
5. Boys find the raspy voice sexy.
