things that bug...and things that I love.

So that little Tagged post put me in the mood to share some things that have been on my mind as of late, or just repeatedly...so lucky you, I am going to share!

Things that really bug...

1. Scooters, bullet bikes, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles...all of these should require helmet wearing. I do not understand what is going through someone's mind when they hop on one of these without one. They really must not have much to live for, because they are willing to give it up way to quickly. My favorite is when you see someone riding one with the helmet sitting on the seat in back of him. Maybe it is because they cannot mess up their work of art faux hawk? I don't know, but it really does not make sense to me.

2. Do people in Utah County just not work? No matter what day or time it is, anywhere you go, it is busy! There is traffic, (and we all know my wrath towards Utah drivers...), there are lines, etc. Kids, moms, dads, business men and women, everywhere you go. In normal cities this does not happen because people actually go to their jobs during the day, it is a phenomenon.
3. Orem Wal-mart. I realize that even Wal-Mart has it's limits, but if you are in Orem, don't you think that you could inventory a little bit better?

4. Twilight. Seriously people. How many times do you have to read that "Bella melted into his arms" or "kissed his ice cold lips"...I suppose every generation needs their Buffy.

5. People finding out how old I am and then giving me that sympathetic smile when finding out I am single. Yes, I did read last months Ensign about being "Single and Steadfast". No, I do not need to borrow a copy. Yes, I choose my single status and Yes, I am happy that way. And No, I do not want to meet your friend, brother or son. And lastly, I know I "will make someone very happy someday", thanks.

NOW things that I love :)

1. Instant Messaging!!! I am not a computer geek, I do not meet people online, and I have actually never been in a chat room. But I love talking to my sisters, my parents and the occasional friend on IM. It allows for so much multi tasking! I can watch SportsCenter, paint my toenails and eat my dinner all while talking to an old friend.

2. Argyle. I have always been a huge fan of the pattern. Oh and paisley. Not quite sure which era I am in with this obsession, but I love them. Socks, shirts, curtains, linens, panties, skirts, purses, so many options!!!! Polka dots have their place, but sometimes they make me a little dizzy...so paisley and argyle are definitely my fancy.

3. My niece and nephew. They are adorable. I love to talk to them on the phone. They are both quite the talkers and so SMART! For some reason hearing my 3 year old nephew say "Hi Beecckkk E", being able to talk to me, and tell me that he loves me brings more pride and rainbows in my life than a gay parade on a sunny San Fransisco day.

4. Pancakes. I am a major carb addict. Bad I know, goes straight to the belly, but I don't care, I love them. And just like the paisley/ argyle obsession- SO MANY OPTIONS!! Whipped cream, jelly, butter, syrup, candy, peanut butter, berries...and don't even get me started on waffles, don't even get me started. It's kinda like panini's...flat. OH or crepes...also flat. And so freaking delicious with so many options. I love options.

5. HDTV. I currently do not have HD, and I do not have time to watch television...but when there is an important game on, HD is amazing. Or when they are whipping up goodies on the food network- it's truly mind blowing what a little high def can do for the senses. It's like you are there! You can practically smell LT's sweat or the herbs in Giada De Laurentiis' main dish. Apparently there is now HD Radio, I don't know how that works, but I bet that's pretty killer too.

Wow, that was a lot... This whole blogging thing is new to me. And what I can't believe is that all my married friend's have these and their's are more interesting! I am the single girl living in the life. They are cooped up in apartments staring at eachother, and doing boring, married stuff...yet their's seem to kick my blog's butt :(

TAGGED...again, so I am doing it!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

The plan was that I would be leaving in 2 days to go to Basic Training...well I will still be going, just not quite as soon as I thought/had hoped. But it is ok! (I've been boobin about it for weeks, time to get over it) Life has been busy enough without worrying too much about that. However I have been getting a bit trunky about the working out part, so now I have a little bit more time to crack down on that too (even Josh noted my little gut) . And the Olympics have been on- talk about muscleinspiration. And if I am going to be a good American, I should definitely watch those.

Friday was an important day for 2 reasons.

1. It was the Strawderman's annual celebration of Sister's Day.
2. BFF and Heterolifemate Dacia bit the dust...I mean, she got happily married.

Sister's Day is something that Emily, Hillary and I have been celebrating for as long as I can remember. It is something that has always been pretty fun for us, just an exchanging of gifts and a special day to show our love and appreciation for each other- fights and bloody noses aside. True to all of our nature- (mine esp.) the gifts are ready to go, but have yet to be mailed. My sister's are my absolute best friends. We are somewhat parent less right now- don't worry, they are alive, but on a mission and more power to them- so we have come to rely on each other a lot. They have been there for me and I love them!!!

The other big occasion was obviously the marriage of Dacia and Dave Smith. This was...interesting...but exciting. Sorry, I am just not one for marriages, weddings, stress, it's just not my thing. Especially when it means losing a best friend to matrimony (cooking, waiting on a man, babies, scrap booking, budgeting, family wards, etc). But as my other good friends pointed out, it was about her, not me. And so it was great to be a part of something so important to her and to be able to see her accomplish this huge and sacred part of life. She was absolutely beautiful. And all that time doing makeup was a waste because when she walked out of those temple doors, I cried like a toddler. I am truly happy for her and her brave new husband. I am just a little bitter right now because she is my Dacia no more... But Dave does go out of town from time to time, so another dress up night will be well on its way.

In celebration of this event the girls did spend a day together and it was perfect. It started with sewing thingies on bags for almonds-see the sewing starts already. Then it was off to Seven Peaks! Provo wins the award for having the most GHETT-O water park in America! Go Provo! But with us 4 girls together, nothing could have made us happier. Afterwards it was off to Tucanos to eat endless amounts of meat, I know right. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants ended the night. Pretty much the perfect GNO! Except I thought that those pants were pretty fugly and I can guarantee that none of those girls would ever be caught dead in them in real life. Friends or not. Sorry ladies, even in a pair of Sevens, if you draw and write gay stuff all over them, I'm not gonna wear em. OH but wait, they lost the pants and there was a wholesome moral...after they all lost their viriginity...hmmm...anyway!

Katie's birthday was also a noteable occasion. This is the most that us girls have all spent together since we all lived together! It has been a blast. But just a bit about my KK...she is a very stubborn, silly girl. But over the years I have come to learn that she also one of the most driven, fun and caring people that I know. She also just moved out to be married...but I still love her too! Anyway, yes, we did celebrate her birthday in total Hannah Montana fashion. Lucky Girl!

This is the first time that I have ever really had "girl friends" ( my sisters aside) and I realize that as much fun as I have had with my guy friends, this is really nice! Now if they would just quit running off and getting married, that would be excellent. :)

My amazing parents are still on their LDS mission in Russia...who is beefing with Georgia (yes, Katie and Dacia, the COUNTRY) right now. As far as I know they are doing really well still, just busy. Hopefully that is how it will stay. I just know that they are currently not getting hot water. But that shouldn't be too bad, pretty sure Dac and I have gone more than legal lengths of time without showers. Plus they are tough...

Other than that, it is just getting back into some hardcore working out, avoiding dating, perfecting my iTune mixes, hating my acrylic nails, getting used to a new ward, battling my roommate for a decent temperature in the house (87 is NOT considered decent), admitting that I like Miley Cyrus' new album, and loving life and the people in it. Yes even that creeper at Albertsons- he found my keys last week- which I had dropped in the tampon isle..don't know why he was down there. But just last month a man had a baby (I watch Oprah on my days off)...so who knows?!
